Using the gun clipping technique, you can break into the room behind the tarp in the Shepherd basement and reach Adam Shepherd. Hilarity ensues. More information below.
About gun clipping: this is one of the most embarrassing oversights I have ever seen in a game. The collision box of small firearms extends far enough out that it can be used to pull Alex into objects, walls and barriers. About 90% of all barriers in the game can be passed by using the collision of a small firearm. There's almost no limit to how much you can break the game with this technique. This is such an embarrassing programming oversight it almost defies belief. But then again...it's Homecoming!
To break into the room, focus on clipping through the section of wall to the left of the wide beam (seen in the video). I've had a ton of experience glitching through this wall, but don't let the video fool you: it takes awhile to really understand the best movements necessary to pass through it. You will want to avoid getting pulled into the wide beam, since you can get stuck in it.
All of the melee weapons except the chainsaw will work on Adam. To shoot him with firearms, you must position the trigger outside the "safety" zone of Adam, and then simultaneously fire the weapon and slide in front of Adam. If timed correctly, the fired weapon will land on Adam. If you can knock Adam to the ground, he becomes temporarily vulnerable to gunshots from any angle.
I've a lot of questions about this. Most importantly, though, is why Adam has HP. The fact he can be killed here is baffling to me.
