This is a continuation of a glitch in which Murphy fails to grab a chair properly and it attaches permanently to his character model. More information below.

Part 1 (First time it happened unintentionally, Monastery cutscene): youtube.com/watch?v=C5RBuy5DTQQ

Part 2 (First replication, a bunch of sidequests around town with it): youtube.com/watch?v=4Ife5GmQCdY

So yea, I feel like I can confirm that the bench/box area near the park exit on Lamon Street, somehow, is allowing this glitch to happen. It's consistent enough in that I've now done this three times in the same exact way, same exact location. This video is the best recording of this, as it captures my efforts from beginning to end.

What is making this happen? I don't know. My best guess is that the collision with the bench and the boxes in the precise location just makes it possible, eventually, for this to occur. All I am doing is stepping onto the bench, facing the wall, and dropping the chair. Most of the time the chair will fall back and to the right of Murphy (near the boxes), and I go to pick it up. That's literally all I am doing. Every time the glitch has happened, the chair fell back and to the right near the boxes. It seems like this area is important.

At first I had the idea that I was somehow confusing the game between picking up the chair and pulling out the flashlight, and that the glitch occurs because of an improper mix of button presses. However, I can tell you that I did not press a button to bring out the flashlight. All I did was drop the chair and move to pick it up. In the video you can see that I was ready to drop it again when I realized I got the glitch.

In this video I take it to the Hillside apartment cutscene. Don't worry about how I skipped that cutscene, I will eventually upload a video on how I did that. Just enjoy the cutscene for now.

I can tell you that the load transition on the 2nd floor of Hillside Apartments (going from Pearl Creek to Hillside and vice versa) will take the glitch away. In order to take this to Hillside, I had to use the subway system. I assume (but am not willing to try to see) that the load transition in the park between Pearl Creek and Chastain Heights does the same)

The glitch will also be cancelled out when you either go to the Monastery level or after the boat ride. It seems like each new main area of the game simply cancels the glitch.

I believe there are probably other locations in the game that are like this area on Lamon street that allow this glitch to be replicated. I am actively on the hunt for such locations.
