Using the gun clipping technique, I break back in to Bartlett Mausoleum after having already gone to the Grand Hotel level and show you what happens when you return to a part of the game you aren't meant to return to. Video breakdown below.

When Alex returns to Shepherd's Glen, the Bartlett Mausoleum gate is shut and locked to prevent the player from returning to the hotel. However, after much searching, I found a single way to break through the gate. This is in fact the only way to get past the gate. You can't actually pass through the gate itself as the gate's collision is one of the few barriers in the game where the gun can't clip into the collision. You also can't trick the game by using the nearby collision to slide through the gate (like can be done with other doors). And you can't get to the Mausoleum by passing through any of the walls that surround it because the entire area is separated by a wide collision-less boundary (nothing between the walls and the area). The only way to break into the area is by climbing the left pillar and then wall-walking over the gate.

Breaking In:

Most collision corners in the game can be climbed using the gun. The tight collision of the joining walls creates conflicting tension that will boost you upwards. When Alex is seen "resting" at the top (where it looks like he dips a bit) this is him resting on the collision. If you don't see this happen, it means you aren't safely on the collision yet.

Walking on the wall seems like I might be doing it wrong, but I'm not. Even though it looks like the wall is to my left, the actual collision is in the center, giving the illusion I am walking on thin air. If you try to walk on the VISIBLE wall, you'll fall through the map.

At the Hotel:

When you return to the Hotel, a few neat things can be encountered. See, when you return to the hotel you are returning to a level you both have and have not yet beaten, so the level is in this bizarre "we remember you were here, but don't remember you were here" state.

-The cutscene transition to the hotel is the same, and I show you that it's not different. The game acts as though you are doing this for the first time.

04:50 Maintenance
-The Maintenance area gate will be opened since you already opened it, and the fuse box will have already been turned on. However you can still interact with the fuse box wiring and Alex will even comment on it. However the controls to mess with the box again are super weird and it's very difficult to move the target around (I seem like I am struggling to interact with it because I literally am, the inputs are jacked up now).

06:15 Josh at the Entrance
- The boards will already be broken down (since you already did that) but since you are also beginning this level "new", Josh will appear in the entrance and you can approach him (not possible in normal gameplay). He doesn't do anything except cower, and no matter what you do he will not go away BECAUSE the trigger for him to disappear is picking up the fireaxe from the alley, and since the axe is already gone (since you already picked it up) the trigger is gone. Also, NO you can't kill Josh (for those that have seen my video with Adam in the basement using a side-step technique to shoot Adam, it doesn't work on Josh).

08:00 Josh in the Hallway
-In normal gameplay Josh is standing in the hallway. But he's gone now. However he will still reappear from behind the desk to run under the rubble, only this time Alex doesn't verbally react to this (in normal gameplay he calls out for Josh).

11:10 The Elevator Music
-The elevator fight plays out like normal, however upon exiting the elevator the music from that scene doesn't stop and will continue playing. I don't know why. Just the game getting confused.

13:30 Failed Drop Prompt
-This isn't exclusive to returning to the hotel. Sometimes this drop prompt glitches out and won't appear. Just a coincidence it happened now.

15:00 Josh Cutscene
-Accessing the Josh room cutscene a 2nd time results in some very funky visual distortions.

16:50 Bartlett and Sepulcher
-You've already beaten Sepulcher. Bartlett has already died. Therefore this is the end of the road. A literal dead end. The prompt to talk to Bartlett (thus ending the level) will not reappear. Bartlett is quite literally a zombie now.

And if you save your game anywhere on this return trip, the game will always default you to the street area regardless of which save point you used. But remember you can't leave this level now, so if you save it's an instant useless file.
