We had wanted to IC with each other since early December but finding a time to both do it since we are basically opposite ends of the planet was a bit of a struggle. But yesterday were like ''fuck it, lets jus do it.'' and we did it.
HUZZAH.
We both decided to choose a song from one of our favorite bands - Disturbed - and pick any media that inspires us as the time, for me it was Ergo Proxy. I have been stalking this anime for awhile and I love dark anime's. Re-L is such a babe.
This particular song by Disturbed isn't surprisingly in my top 5 but it was one that I hadn't yet edited to and it inspired me with its lyrics giving me a good way to keep on practicing my typography. It needs work but I'm getting there!

I really love this movie. Its definitely in my top 5. Or maybe its tied with Pacific Rim that was also released a year earlier than this.
When I first saw this at the movies, I turned into a codfish, I could not keep my jaw closed as it was in a permanant jewdropping status from the sheer awesomeness of this movie.
Speaking of codfish - the music is from Call of Duty: Black Ops. In fact, I love all the soundtrack to the Black Ops C.O.D game, and Idk how, but the two just make a perfect combination.
I had alot of fun editing this! and Im still on an inspiration trip xD life is going well so *raises glass* to editing!
My recommendations for watching this movie is 10/10 I own on it both DVD and BluRay/

My category was Action
Even though Action is very vague, my definition of it is movement and noise.
Violence and intensity.
I tried to incoperate all those things into this audition video.
With the violence there had to be a motive so the obvious Hero saves the damsel in distress was the perfect choice. Dantes reasoning for fighting the demons was to protect
Kat and save her when demons got ahold of her.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Summary of the Story is that Kat asks for help from Dante.
He is reluctant at first, not believing her ideas that the demons are really out there. But once a demon attacks, he changes his mind and devotes himself to protecting her from the demons. Another higher ranking demon injures Kat and he swears revenge on the demon, but the fight changes Dante more than he expects.

The subtitles are there to put emphasis on the story.
I associate stories with books and words, to be told a story is to read it.. at least that it is in my mind lol so I put the subtitles there to emphasis the words telling a story.

Since Ive started my full time job, Ive found myself to be way more tired - my body isnt used to a job thats so -on-your-feet-all-day. My last job was cruisy as compared to this.

Truth be told I had been chipping away at this since last year, I ended up with a project 20+ layers and my poor Vegas and poor computer had issues rendering the entire thing together because it became so gargantuan, it was rather frustrating but I found a glass of wine was my comfort lol

This particular video started out with the idea of Vergils POV first, in his quest to find Dante, alongside Kat facing the demons to where it switched to Dantes POV as he then fought against numerous demons including Mundus.

It has been an honor to be able to collab with Shelby, they came to me with the proposal of a collab and not just any collab.. a DEVIL MAY CRY collab and they had me at hello.
Considering they has very little edited to DMC I was just so impressed with their editing skills, they complimented my style so well, at times I was watching this in render and was like ..wait when did the part change from mine to theirs? so thank you Shelby, I greatly enjoyed editing this with you!

This project went very smoothly, we set ourselves deadlines and contantly inspired each other and gave each other feedback on each of our parts until both all of our parts were mwah perfection!
We went with the overarching themes of Devil may Cry, starting with Dantes inner demons with his family connections of Nero and Vergil and trying to bring them all together as close as we can to the lyrics and theme of the song - I feel we did very well - im so proud of this collab!
This is literally a perfect ending to 2019 and I cant wait to bring on 2020 - its gonna be a bash!

It also gave me a chance to edit the new Special Edition scenes, I got to say I am happy they made new cutscenes so some parts of the story do kind of fit together but still not happy they didnt try to explain Neros origin.
