Well we just had some very interesting words from the former head of PS Studios / Worldwide Studios. Shuhei Yoshida left SIE last year and previously he said that he had no choice but to either leave or take on the indies job. Now that language has changed a bit and he said he was fired from that position, and given the indie one instead. It opens up the conversation yet again of the 2019 restructure and the Jim Ryan era of PlayStation. What really went on here? We discuss in this newest edition of PlayStation Tea. Perhaps that's what we should start calling these? PST. Good acronym I'd say.

PlayStation has been very busy this week filing a lawsuit against Tencent over their rip-off Horizon game Light of Moritam. We got a lot of juicy details about how Tencent actually pitched a Horizon game themselves! Sony said no, but they went ahead with the game anyway it seems. This week we also had the big multiplatform job listing at SIE that has everyone wondering if Sony will release more games on Xbox and Nintendo Switch. And some are suggesting that yes, more will come. Elsewhere through the week we have China Joy 2025 where Sony held a little conference, we have new gameplay for Phantom Blade Zero going viral, and some Nintendo Direct Partner announcements. Its definitely busy! Now if I can just squeak by you and grab some napkins. (Sheesh this restaurant is always so packed).

This time Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had its GOTY award revoked from the Indie Game Awards for initially using some gen-AI during development. Then Larian tries to cool down their AI controversy. And then Battlefield 6 faces new AI accusations. It just wont stop folks. We also have a new Welcome Hub background, Gran Turismo 7s active users revealed, and console sales that are still struggling. Which does make sense given PS5s age. You know what also makes sense? This week weve got a big next-gen PlayStation 6 rumor that dropped. Weve got what are alleged to be nearly the full specs sheet for codename Orion, the traditional PS6 console. And big surprise, the real leap in performance is expected to be in the ray tracing and AI department. We also have a bit of game subscription drama going on where on the one end, Game Pass is getting called out by former Microsoft staff. And on the other end, we have an indie developer straight up saying Sony saved them. Whats going on here?! Elsewhere through the week we have some words from Neil Druckmann about Intergalactic, and then a rumor for Marvels Wolverine, and more Ghost of Yotei details. Apparently Sucker Punch ISNT psyched to do more Sly Cooper? Man, theres so much going on. So much that I really wanna finish writing this and going to bed because this took all night to edit.
