What is the purpose of apologetics?
Is it to win debates?
To answer difficult questions?
To prove Christianity is true?
Those are all valuable goals—but they're not the ultimate goal.
In this conversation, we discuss why apologetics is best understood as a tool that helps remove intellectual obstacles so people can clearly hear the Gospel.
Evidence can answer objections. It can demonstrate that Christianity is intellectually credible. It can strengthen the faith of believers.
But evidence itself cannot transform a human heart. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can do that.
As Christians, we're called to be ready to give an answer for the hope we have, but every answer should ultimately point people to the One who is our hope.
