Switzerland is planning a vote on a "universal basic income", which would guarantee all adults $2800 a month. That might seem crazy, but debates about basic income are happening everywhere. In the US, low-wage retail and fast food workers are rallying in favor of an increase to the federal minimum wage, which is currently $7.25.

So the question is, how much do we need to live?
