If you or maybe your parents are getting too old to drive safely maybe it's time for them to get a full self driving Tesla (FSD) ? I took my mom on a test drive of a Model Y and we were very impressed. We navigated dense city traffic by merely telling the car where we wanted to go. Once the car got into the parking lot we drove it near an empty spot and told it to park. It did!
I must say I was very impressed. This tech would extend the autonomy of an older driver for many years and add to the general safety on the road.
Also, I bet drunk driving could be a thing of the past. If someone wanted to imbibe at a bar I for one would feel better if they asked their sober car to driver them home then if they tried it themselves.
