Should the human race end?
The extinction of the human race is one of the most grim narratives. From disease to otherworldly invaders, humans have imagined what it would look like to be wiped out. But one of these possibilities stands as the most chilling; self extermination. A species which destroys itself, launching their own weapons upon their own kind until none are left, something worthy of dedicated discussion and analysis. Devilman Crybaby explores this possibility in a world where demons exist, sometimes merging with humans to make devilmen, humans with the hellish power of these creatures. Akira is one of these, turned by Ryo’s manipulation into the host for Amon. They seek to reveal this hidden truth of demons existence, but things turn much darker for Akira with Ryo’s true intentions; the destruction of humanity.
