Short naps are one of the most common baby sleep struggles… but they’re not always a sign that your baby “just isn’t a good napper.” 👀
If your baby is consistently waking after 30–45 minutes, there are a few things I’d look at first:
1️⃣ They haven’t developed independent sleep skills.
If your baby needs rocking, feeding, bouncing, or another form of help to fall asleep, they may struggle to connect sleep cycles when they naturally stir between them.
2️⃣ Their wake windows or schedule are off.
Too much or too little awake time can make it harder for your baby to get a restorative nap. Age-appropriate wake windows and the right nap schedule can make a BIG difference.
3️⃣ Their sleep environment isn’t supporting sleep.
Light, noise, temperature, or inconsistent sleep conditions can all contribute to naps that end before your baby is actually rested.
And here’s the important part: short naps are a symptom, not always the problem itself.
Before you start changing everything at once, look at why your baby is waking early. That’s where you’ll find the real solution. 💕
