Here is a ShopRite commercial that aired on WOR (channel 9 out of Secaucus, New Jersey, serving the New York City Metro area) in the summer of 1985. It's a down-home "Fresh 'n Juicy Jamboree" in which their familiar spokesperson, Linda Watkins, can be briefly seen. This ad leads into a "Million Dollar Movie" bump, but when the film begins there's no video, just black. After a few seconds, the MDM slide is seen, and station announcer Phil Tonkin is heard advising viewers that the show was experiencing technical difficulties and would be restored shortly. And then it was.
