On October 27, 2023, Summit Police responded to reports of shoplifting at a business near Springfield Avenue and Maple Street in Summit, NJ. Officers detained Jahiyah Lucas (20), Yasmin Cook (20), and Cheyann Fields (19), all from Philadelphia, PA, following a brief pursuit. As police arrived, the suspects attempted to discard merchandise, which was later recovered. All three were arrested and charged with shoplifting and obstructing the administration of law.
