I recently worked with an aerial hoop artist named Alexane Mezzorana. She needed some pictures and I obliged. We quickly booked the shoot at a place called Caravan Coop in Quebec city and went out to shoot some photos. While doing the shoot, I realized all the different types of challenges that exist when doing circus artists photography and decided to talk about them in a Youtube video.

To make a long story short, here are the challenges

Getting a place is not the easiest. You need tons of space vertically and horizontally

One must find a space where you can actually rig your stuff in the air. Not all studios will allow you to shoot when it comes to hanging people of their ceiling

Lighting can be a great challenge. If you decide to use flash lighting, things can take quite a while

The trial and error rate is very very high
