Using the XT2 and XT20 I shoot boudoir in natural light indoors with the lovely French model and circus artist Meghane Poulet
I have done several photo shoots with Meg including one with Owen, her circus partner, and one with her alone in a weird abandoned church in an area called Sillery in the Québec city area. The last time we did a video shoot Meg had a strong desire to feel pretty. We had found a place to take the photos but we were plagued with the presence of having a night watchman there the whole time we were shooting. If there is one thing I must say about any boudoir shoot, it is indeed this. Assure yourself that there is the least amount of people around possible and that those people that are there are professional in the sense that they know when to be quiet. When to not disturb and when to respect the subject's space while they get into very provocative cloths.
Meg holds a special place in my heart and is really one of those people where I am always open to shoot with her. She is among the rare people where she outright is open to anything. She also is totally at ease and in total peace with her body. For this and many reasons she is among the handful of people where I do not even hesitate to do something on spec with her. I just know that, at the end of the whole project, something pretty fascinating will come about. Little tips and lessons learned in boudoir
I think the most important thing to know when doing these shoots is to put yourself at ease and also the mind of the person you are working with. Although, I did not have a problem with this with Meg, I can just imagine working wi.th a model you either hired or contacted on Model Mayhem for a boudoir shoot. I am a releatively social guy but I still found myself uneasy about doing a shoot where your subject is so vulnerable.
