Singer D4vd (David Burke), 21, has now been formally charged in the killing of 14‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose dismembered remains were found in the front trunk of his abandoned Tesla in September 2025. Prosecutors announced the charges on April 20, 2026, following a months‑long investigation that they say was slowed by degraded evidence and the lack of eyewitnesses.

Burke faces first‑degree murder, continuous CSAM of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains, along with special‑circumstance allegations including lying in wait, murder for financial gain, and murdering a witness. He has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.

According to prosecutors, Celeste—who had been reported missing multiple times—was last seen alive on April 23, 2025, when she went to Burke’s Hollywood Hills home. She was not seen again until her remains were discovered nearly five months later.
