I recently purchased a 1972 Arburg injection molding machine that weighs about 1,000 pounds, and needed to get it from the seller's house to my house--a distance of about 2,000 miles. I also sold my Taig CNC machine to a buyer close to 3,000 miles away. Here I describe the two LTL shippers I used to ship these machines, and lessons about packing heavy machines for shipping.
