Shiny Relicanth, first phase, underodds. Gaming.
I can't believe I got this amazing shiny first phase. I don't think I've had a reaction like that before. I think I was more shocked at finding the shiny first phase than the shiny itself. This is in my opinion one of the best shinies in the series. It's incredible.
I think this repel trick has been massively overrated in terms of difficulty. I really, really don't think it's as slow as people suggested to me. It was 50-60 encounters an hour if that's any help. I'm now able to drop the repel trick so I can just do normal sweet scent encounters for Clamperl which I've already started hunting.
Just the one target left on this quest!

My fifth member of my Dream Team appears after 12,611. Im really happy with this shiny and its a little nostalgic as it was a member of my original Black play through. Chandelure is an incredible shiny and I cant wait to evolve it.
This hunt is a little annoying as you cant use the bike so encounters do feel a little slow at times. Illuminate does help of course but the encounter rate at base is slower.
This file has been very up and down in terms of luck as it has an average of 15,000 encounters per shiny at this rate which is insanely unlucky. Im excited for Deino though as thats my next target.

Back to back super quick hunts! You cant complain at that. My luck has done a complete 180 and Im loving it. Phase 1 for Deino is complete with a nice shiny Durant to join my collection.
Always had a soft spot for Durant. I wish you could get it earlier in the game (you can in BW2) because I would use this on my team. I used to keep ants when I was a kid so I like it a lot. Nice rusty shiny design too!

Shiny Latios after 11,966 soft resets to complete the HeartGold/SoulSilver Roamers. It feels incredible to be able to say that. It seems only yesterday I was hunting Entei to start these off and yet here we are. I say in the video but its a bittersweet moment to complete them in these games. I really enjoyed hunting them.
This shiny is so beautiful. The minty-green is just amazing and I think its comfortably sat in among my top 10 shinies of all time. All Roamers have beautiful shinies but this is up there for sure.
I really enjoyed this hunt looking back but I wont deny that I found it hard at times. The method shown was first shown I believe in this video; https://youtu.be/gF7msPdgZcw by a Japanese Shiny Hunter named soooooonansuka on Twitter. It was then shown by BeatingBros and RavenGoingUp. I think there may be one or two more but I cant find them. This method has one big disadvantage in my opinion & from my experience in that its difficult to hunt something next to it. It requires a lot of attention. Its plausible that its just simply how my brain works but the method I used for Latias allowed me to hunt other things at the side. This is vital for me to keep focused and motivated. It might not be to others and this is just my experience. Im not saying this is right or wrong but experiment, try both, see what you think.
Around 8,000 I took a break from hunting but came back full of motivation to claim this beautiful shiny as my own. Im so happy to have him in my collection.

Dream Team #3 obtained! Very happy to have finished this hunt as it went on for quite a while. I dont have the best of luck with summary screen hunts which is frustrating because theyre my least favourite hunts to do. Either way, its done and Im very happy. I was gifted a beautiful shiny female Eevee. Eevee is similar to starters & fossils in sharing the same gender ratio. Females are the rare ones and Im delighted!
Jolteon is an incredibly good Pokemon in Gen 3. I cant wait to take on the game with its Special Attack and Speed. I was really fearing a Special Attack reducing nature with this hunt but Quirky is nice and neutral.
Dratini is up next. Excited for that one.

The very proud owner of a 3rd Gen Togepi. This is quite possibly my most prized shiny & one of the most obscure shinies in 3rd Gen due to the way you need to hunt it. It’s either full odds Emerald hatching or this hunt, realistically. It is available in FireRed/LeafGreen but with no FlameBody to speed up eggs it’s not really worth it.
I’ve had these e-Reader cards for a while now and I’ve wanted to hunt these Shadow Pokemon which I will complete soon, hopefully. They’re quite obscure but you can get on auction sites if you want to. They’re exclusive to the Japanese copy though I do believe you can perform magic with an Action Replay to get these in a non-Japanese copy though according to some reports I’ve read, there is a tendency to cause Bag Eggs & even corrupt save files due to the incomplete translations so just keep that into account.
The Togepi is locked as Sassy nature and has 0 in all IVs. I believe these Pokemon were just simple ways of completing the Dex though it’s possible that they were given beneficial natures to aid in breeding in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen. Sassy is the best nature for Togetic in 3rd Generation so I lean towards this more than anything. Either way, it’s a super cool feature and I’m really happy to have one of these boxed off. Next up is probably Mareep!
*Edit - They are actually sufferers of the same glitch attributed to the Roamers in FireRed/LeafGreen/Ruby/Sapphire in which their IVs are lower due to a memory write issue. Another team member joins the ranks! Shiny Stunky was my 2nd target here though I didnt really expect to get it. Bronzor was 55% so there was essentially a coin flip chance to phase. You cant complain at picking up a Diamond exclusive Pokemon.
The encounter rate in Wayward Cave with Mira is awful, truly awful. If you dont believe me, try it yourself with an Illuminate Pokemon leading. I was doing almost a third more just single hunting in the grass.
Hopefully Bronzor will shine next (spoiler, I got it next phase)!
