Shiny Entei appears very quickly on my SoulSilver. Very happy with this. My previous 7 shinies have required 15.9k encounters on average per each shiny so I suppose you could say I was due an upturn in luck. I’m still hunting for Raikou in my HeartGold.
The preparation for this hunt and the preparation to catch it took longer than the actual hunt. I personally believe these are the fastest roamers available due to the transition speed between Ecruteak City & Route 37. However, I do concede that prep time to hunt it efficiently using a Mamoswine (or a strong Pokémon of your choice) that will obey you plus the time it takes to catch it might mean others such as Platinum Birds and Mesprit are potentially “easier”. It’s really debateable I guess. I personally don’t mind prep time but others do. I suppose in a sense you can categorise them differently; Easiest & fastest. The actual hunt itself is ridiculously quick. You’re able to see a solid 40 per hour for the most part which is very, very quick as far as roaming hunts go.
The tricky thing is, you need your Smeargle and your Mamoswine to obey you as you can only possibly have three badges up to this point. To progress further, you need to have released the Beasts in to the wild. If you play on hunting this, make sure you have a completed save file in another Gen IV game that you can use to help you prepare and train for this.

Shiny Feebas in its original generation, the best kind of Feebas. I cant tell you how surreal it feels to have this shiny in my collection. Pretty crazy how well this DTQ progressed, to be honest, I cant believe its over. Its a proud yet sad moment as always when you complete a quest. I ended it with a challenging hunt that Im proud of.
Feebas is regarded as one of the most difficult hunts in the series, never mind in Ruby/Sapphire but Im here to pour water on that fire. Its nowhere near as bad as what people suggest. I think a lot of misinformation leads to the theory its as bad as what some people think so hopefully this video is a little down to earth reminder if you decide to hunt it yourself. I really hope others do as its quite a nice relaxing hunt. This was specifically quite nice to stream too over on Twitch.
Theres a common misconception that certain natured Feebas cannot evolve in 3rd and 4th Gen. This is completely false as you will see here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojl7Bjcm4zw This video shows an Impish natured Feebas, one of those claimed to be unable to evolve, actually evolve. Its all about the Berries.
Certain natured Feebas are more difficult to evolve if they dislike Dry Pokeblocks but simply using a Pamtre Berry for your PokeBlocks will make ANY Feebas evolve. Lets stamp out this decade old myth once and for all.

Fun fact, a Graveler was my 4th full odds shiny that I actually hunted way back in the days of not live recording. Not the most inspired of shinies nor videos you’ll ever watch but hey, it’s still a shiny. Glad I got one live at least.
This was a side hunt which appeared rather quickly in Pearl. I love these late game Sinnoh areas a lot, they’re very underhunted. I’d love to get that Magby some day so I’m going to do a few phases here and see what shinies. Besides the Graveler, I don’t have any of these targets live currently neither. This was a hunt I was doing on my spare system next to the Platinum Bird Roamers. Hopefully they’re next!

Shiny Jynx finally appears after 4203 random encounters on the 6th phase. I can safely say I have never been more relieved that a hunt is over than this. Dont get me wrong, it was worth it but man it tested me at times. I had two super long phases and I was only single hunting this. At most I could do probably 600 a day if I really pushed myself but that was rare.
I made it my goal to try and finish this before New Year and Ive only gone and done it. To date, this is one of the most valuable shinies for me just for the sheer willpower needed to finish this hunt.
If youre interested in this hunt, as it is the best way to hunt Jynx in the wild in terms of encounter rate, its 43% with a level 51 repel trick in Platinums Snowpoint Temple (Not available in Diamond or Pearl). Its very slow so dont make it your primary hunt is my advice.

Gen 1 Shiny Zapdos appears after a super quick hunt. Only 665 resets for the first of the trio. Gen 2 Zapdos is super vibrant and changes a lot more than in later Gens.
This was on my childhood copy of Yellow too which is always amazing to use for shiny hunting. This game was what got me into Pokemon, period.
Ill probably hunt the other two Legendary Birds at a later point this year.
