Shiny Jynx finally appears after 4203 random encounters on the 6th phase. I can safely say I have never been more relieved that a hunt is over than this. Don't get me wrong, it was worth it but man it tested me at times. I had two super long phases and I was only single hunting this. At most I could do probably 600 a day if I really pushed myself but that was rare.
I made it my goal to try and finish this before New Year and I've only gone and done it. To date, this is one of the most valuable shinies for me just for the sheer willpower needed to finish this hunt.
If you're interested in this hunt, as it is the best way to hunt Jynx in the wild in terms of encounter rate, it's 43% with a level 51 repel trick in Platinum's Snowpoint Temple (Not available in Diamond or Pearl). It's very slow so don't make it your primary hunt is my advice.

Gen 1 Shiny Zapdos appears after a super quick hunt. Only 665 resets for the first of the trio. Gen 2 Zapdos is super vibrant and changes a lot more than in later Gens.
This was on my childhood copy of Yellow too which is always amazing to use for shiny hunting. This game was what got me into Pokemon, period.
Ill probably hunt the other two Legendary Birds at a later point this year.

Ho-Oh is a gorgeous shiny in both 2nd Gen and 4th Gen. If Im being brutally honest I prefer it more in 4th Gen but I wanted to complete the duo in the same generation and I may even hunt another in HeartGold some day, who knows! I really like the red in this game though!
I cant believe this shined so quickly. I very rarely get shinies this fast so its a welcome change. My luck has been awful this year minus a few exceptions but we do what we do to find shinies! Sorry if my commentary isnt top-notch in this video. I really struggle to comprehensively put together a good video when something amazing happens like this, my brain just caves in on itself.

My first shiny in a few months due to a mini-hiatus. I’ve been super busy with work in the past couple of months so hunting grinded to essentially a stand still. I’m back now though I can’t hunt as much as I used to sadly. Shiny Snivy appears and I love it. I really like this line a lot and I can’t wait to have it fully evolved. This is the first of my Gen V DTQ with Archen coming up next.
Few things in the video;
A) I think the nature is bad for it, based on its move set. Stats wise it’s not but moves wise it is.
B) Ignore the time on the DS. This DS is linked to my HG/SS Safari Zone so I can’t change it otherwise I’ll lose the days tallied up. It really was 4am when I got this shiny, the things you do when you can’t sleep and have work at 5am.
C) Sorry if the microphone is poor quality or you can’t hear me in places very well. I couldn’t take my Blue Yeti with me on campus so had to rely on a headset microphone which isn’t what I use usually (and I have a cold). I messed around in editing to make things a little clearer in places. Sorry about that!
