This year for Safari Week 2022, I decided to switch things up. It’s no secret that I have put a lot of time and effort into Kanto with a successful attempt to catch a Shiny Safari Chansey. This year though, I took a boat to Hoenn in search of the rarer Johto shinies in Emerald’s extensions as well as a few games in Ruby to try for Girafarig.
I had every intention of seeing out the week in Hoenn but half way through, I was struck by a mysterious, green, energy that gave me motivation after seeing a few fellow shiny hunters find my next Kanto Safari target. Here are my finds for this year and a new journey on my channel to find, & catch my next rare target.

11 shinies found
Average of 9,007 per shiny
Not the luckiest of years but I'm glad with the variety I found.

My first shiny in a few months due to a mini-hiatus. I’ve been super busy with work in the past couple of months so hunting grinded to essentially a stand still. I’m back now though I can’t hunt as much as I used to sadly. Shiny Snivy appears and I love it. I really like this line a lot and I can’t wait to have it fully evolved. This is the first of my Gen V DTQ with Archen coming up next.
Few things in the video;
A) I think the nature is bad for it, based on its move set. Stats wise it’s not but moves wise it is.
B) Ignore the time on the DS. This DS is linked to my HG/SS Safari Zone so I can’t change it otherwise I’ll lose the days tallied up. It really was 4am when I got this shiny, the things you do when you can’t sleep and have work at 5am.
C) Sorry if the microphone is poor quality or you can’t hear me in places very well. I couldn’t take my Blue Yeti with me on campus so had to rely on a headset microphone which isn’t what I use usually (and I have a cold). I messed around in editing to make things a little clearer in places. Sorry about that!

My third member of my Dream Team Quest shined underodds! This file is giving me some good luck at last. I really like this shiny, you dont see too many shiny Joltik at all. I love spiders in real life so Im always down to hunt some shiny arachnids in Pokémon (although I think its more based on a flea as its first form). Galvantula is a stunning shiny for sure.
Chargestone Cave is a really nice place to hunt by the way. If youre doing any sort of quest, Id heavily advise this area. There are some super nice targets here. I got Ferroseed first phase here.
My next target is Cubchoo, which is another high % repel trick target in Twist Mountain. First I need to EV train this spider flea and then get cracked.

The second member of my White 2 Pass Power Quest is a Shiny Dunsparce! Pleasantly surprised with this one. Im really enjoying the variety in the routes Im hunting lately. This one was a very late addition to 2021. I hadnt originally intended to hunt here but I quite liked the idea of Unfezant, Azumarill or Leavanny. Those are quite common in other places so I think Ill target them a little later on.
Im already hunting Excadrill in the Dust Clouds with Bianca in Reversal Mountain. Hope to bring that to you soon.

Three Shiny Spearow down, another three needed for the ultimate Dream Team Quest. In all seriousness, I found these three while phasing for Ekans (40%) so I got quite unlucky phase-wise here. Its a bit annoying but hey this is a shiny I dont have yet live so its another video plus its the price you pay for hunting in FireRed/LeafGreen. I remember reading somewhere that there isnt a more widely distributed Pokemon in any game (aside from Magikarp) than Spearow in these games. It is literally everywhere.
I dont mind Spearow but Fearow is my least favourite shiny of all time. The Pokemon itself isnt too bad though and they look interesting in Colosseum for sure.

My 4th Shiny Run member has arrived. I love this shinys design & colours. The origin of Copperajah is also extremely interesting. I believe this is based on the Indian elephants that were brought to the UK and other countries from Indian during the colonial period.
Im very glad this didnt go overodds by much. This hunt required a lot of concentration due to the camera angle in the Wild Area so hunting on my DS was practically impossible or at least at the expense of efficiency. It was a more manual hunt than any of the others Ive done thus far, Sobble excluded.
Already evolved him into Copperajah and it has really helped me pick up some badges & progress through the game. Im really enjoying my playthrough of the Galar region.

The second of the Kami/Weather trio in Black and White has been obtained. I went to 14,000+ for Thundurus so I was blessed with a much shorter hunt this time with Tornadus. I do think these are kinda underrated as far as shinies go. They’re really interesting Pokemon with a good amount of lore and creation put into them.
If you’re curious about hunting these yourself, I recommend you obtain the form before hunting as it’ll really speed up your resets. I used Johnstone’s video on the 3DS app Dream Radar, reverted them to their normal form using the Reveal Glass, and then sent them to Black and White. They really scaled down the roamer mechanics in Gen V with the community referring to these as pseudo-roamers. Their location is limited based on the time of day and you can see which route yours will be on and when here; https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Roaming_Pok%C3%A9mon#Generation_V
Sadly roamers have all but left the series at this point as they went even further in Gen 6 by near-enough removing them (and they’re locked in Gen 6 so who cares really…)

My final team member, shiny Cramorant! I initially started this hunt on Route 9 where its a 40% target with Pincurchin, Octillery & Kingler. I had absolutely no idea you could find it in the same area as Cufant though with Storm Drain to make it 50% in rainy weather. I did 1,800 there and the rest here.
I cant express how much I adore this Pokémon. I know I say this a lot but it might be my favourite of this Gen. Its so difficult to decide on what actually comes out on top so I guess I should reserve judgement until I beat the game.
Sorry for the few cuts in the video btw. I keep getting interrupted because my brother wants to see which shiny Ive found.

I fished up two shiny Magikarp during my Feebas hunt in Ruby and decided to simply put them in the same video. Theyre not the most amazing or interesting shinies in the world obviously but I dont have a live one in 3rd Generation so why not upload them. Plus, the Colosseum showcase!
I found a random Magikarp while looking for my Feebas tile when I was a kid so this hunt and find was quite nostalgic for me honestly. I love how they look in Colosseum too!
