On a beautiful summer day in 1895 Holmes had just concluded his investigation of the sudden death of Cardinal Tusker. Holmes and Watson thought a couple of weeks rest would be a pleasant change, and they choose Stratford-Upon-Avon as their destination. For the first week life is calm and peaceful, and it isn’t until the following Tuesday when the troubles begin. They decide to take a walk through the Forest of Avon when a shot rings out and a bullet hits Sherlock Holmes in the shoulder. Was it just a poor shot or was it intended?
