Hong Kong might not be very christmasy but I hope the second half puts you in the right mood.

I wanted to try this out all year but kept for this special day.
Shenmue II is set to start on February 23rd if you don't use a cleared file from the first game or play the Xbox version. If you do use the file it will start 20 days after the date you left Japan, as that is how long the boat trip takes.
Given that there are many occasions throughout the story where Ryo has to wait for the next day, the five work days and other things it is normally impossible to finish the game soon enough to reach Hong Kong while it's still 1986.
Things change with the Debug Beta however, where you can just jump straight to the final arrival at the harbor on December 3rd, the day that Ryo's quest starts. By going there two days later it's obvious now at what special date Ryo will set foot on the pier in Aberdeen.
Sadly there is nothing special programmed into the game for this day as it was never meant for the player to be there at this time. It was definately an interesting experiment.
