Is the end of the visible water ever a physical horizon? Or simply an illusion caused by refraction?

My most recent observation almost a month ago now. Started putting together this video shortly after the observation but lost motivation to finish it until recently. Observation season is on pause for the extreme summer heat, high water levels, relentless mosquitoes and lack of free time.

This video compares most of the footage from an almost 5 hour long observation at the Shelter Bay ferry area. 3 cameras set to slightly different heights show the minimally changing inferior mirage conditions. Tried my best to line things up for some of the video but there was a lot of unexplained camera/tripod movement. Not my most exciting video, but hopefully some will find it useful. Eventually, I would like to do a more detailed analysis, comparing actual 'hidden' amounts.
