Load cells are mechanical devices that act as force sensors by employing strain gages to provide an electrical output proportional to an applied force. Load cell electrical output can either be analog (voltage or current) or digital.
The load sensing pin, also known as a shear pin load cell, is a unique force sensing device developed by VPG BLH Nobel and uses Advanced Sensors Technology strain gage sensors. Performance of these shear pins benefits from the special internal Foil Technology strain gages developed by VPG.
Force sensing shear pins offer precision force measurement and are very versatile, making them useful in many tension load applications.
