In the world of sports science, performance can be measured and improved in fascinating ways!

We were curious how the paddle responds, so we installed some strain gage sensors on the handle and tried it out!

In addition to strain magnitude, we were also interested in the resonant frequency of the new paddle.

We measured the time difference (ΔT) of 0.00153 seconds over 10 cycles, or ~654 Hz, which agreed with our calculations.

Precision like this shows how we can measure subtle performance improvements in sports.
