Let’s talk honestly about Sharia.
So often misunderstood, especially in the West, where it’s portrayed as a harsh legal system. But here’s the reality:
🔹 90% of Sharia is not about punishments or courts — it’s a spiritual and moral code: how you pray, fast, give charity, show mercy, and live with integrity.
🔹 The Hudud laws — the punishments everyone fears — make up less than 5% of Sharia.
They come with extremely high standards of proof, to the point that they are almost impossible to implement without voluntary confession.
👉 The real goal of Sharia? Prevention, not punishment.

Accountability, not brutality.
📚 Historically:
In 700 years of Ottoman rule, the hudud for adultery was enforced only twice, both wrongly.
In all of Islamic Egypt’s history, it was done once, also wrongly.
Islamic law aims to protect dignity, discourage sin, and uphold mercy. Punishment is the last resort, not the starting point.
