Mercy to the Worlds ﷺ — But How Do We Know His Words? 📖🕊️
“We did not send you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to all the worlds.”
(Qur’an 21:107)
🌍 The Prophet ﷺ is Rahmah — divine mercy embodied.
But to understand his mercy, we turn to his Hadith — his words, his actions, his approvals.
🗣️ Hadith are not like the Qur’an.
They were preserved through transmission chains (isnād), not divine revelation.
Out of 60,000+ hadiths in the canonical collections:
✅ Only about 100 are mutawātir — transmitted by such large numbers across regions that no fabrication is possible.
📚 The rest?
They require analysis:
▶️ Who narrated it?
▶️ Are the chains reliable?
▶️ What does it actually mean?
🧠 Hadith science is a discipline.
And many of the disagreements in the Ummah today are really about:
✍️ Which hadith is authentic?
✍️ And how should it be interpreted?
Understanding this makes us more humble, more unified, and more grateful for the knowledge our scholars preserved.
