Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) face a significant global funding crisis. Donor investments are declining, while demand for reproductive health services continues to rise in many low- and middle-income countries. Population growth, evolving social norms, and persistent gaps in access intensify these pressures. In this context, new approaches are essential to protect access to care and ensure continuity of services.

This session explores how financial constraints can drive innovation. Speakers discuss opportunities to expand private investment, strengthen domestic funding, and give countries more decision-making power. The conversation examines the potential of local manufacturing, pooled procurement, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in improving access and efficiency. It also considers whether health programs should focus more sharply on specific areas or double down on integrated care that links family planning with maternal, child, and primary health services.

By looking at both global strategies and operational examples, the session highlights practical solutions and lessons learned. It offers insights into how partnerships can help close funding gaps and sustain SRHR progress during times of crisis.

Contributions come from Ariane de Hoog (Bayer), Tomi Coker (Government of Ogun State, Nigeria), Aparajita Ramakrishnan (Gates Foundation), Hitesh Sahni (PSI), Claus Runge (Bayer Pharmaceuticals), and Mariarosa Cutillo (UNFPA). Their perspectives show how different actors can work together to safeguard SRHR and build resilient systems for women and families.
