Pamela Rendi-Wagner, Director of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), highlighted that strong cooperation between countries and institutions is essential for global health security.

At last week’s WHS Global Health Dialogue, co-hosted with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, she outlined how ECDC supports global health resilience by:

• strengthening surveillance capacities and the public health workforce within and beyond Europe 
• providing direct support to countries when outbreaks occur
