In a surprising twist on Thursday, Shanna Gardner’s murder trial was delayed until May 2027. The State will seek to try Gardner and the alleged gunman, Henry Tenon, together. Gardner has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony and child abuse in connection to Jared Bridegan’s murder. Mario Fernandez, Gardner's husband, was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder and solicitation to commit a capital felony in Bridegan’s death. Jury selection for Gardner's trial was set to begin on Monday before it was delayed.
