So the N1 Grand Prix is a thing in this game. Got to do the "use this extra folder to do survival battles" thing that everyone loves, found out that Medicine has been taken in by Yamame at the lab (and been given the nickname Sue) after being found in pretty bad shape, go to Eien City to register for something, bumped into Mokou and the local gang, saw some mechas, met Reimu who was trying to get a drink but the button was stuck as well as her navi (who I won't spoil until its battle). Then Reisen was sent to dispatch of Medicine who we now consider a friend, so we had to stop her and her navi Yorihime.
In case you didn't know, Yorihime is from the Silent Sinner in Blue manga which was written by ZUN, and it's pretty good. Read it if you want to know what she's about, since it kinda comes into play in the fight. Jeez, this game covers everything. The Windows games, the PC-98 games (there's even a flashback where Alice is in her PC-98 outfit when she was younger) and even the printed works all have characters showing up here. One character I didn't mention that appears inthe game is the teacher who's Rikako Asakura from Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream, one of them PC-98 games.
Reisen and Yorihime take the roles of Chaud and ProtoMan, up to Yorihime calling Reisen "ma'am" much like how ProtoMan called Chaud "sir." She also uses her sword which reflects what she does in SSiB. It was a good fight, and I look forward to fighting her again.

Kain, in my eyes, was a disappointment gameplay-wise. When I heard he could cancel his attacks to a dash to chain more, I was all awesome. I love the dragoon class, too.
But when I played as him, his gimmick felt kinda... Useless. When you use the dash, you should be able to follow up with something if you want, but it just never wants to work for me. The opponent always gets out of my combo.
Hes still fun, and a very necessary addition to the roster, but just... underwhelming for me.")

Tifa is like Kain, except I never wanted to play as her in the first place; she had a cool gimmick idea, but (at least against the CPU) it just doesnt work well. Her attacks come out fast, at least.
Also, fuck Ultemecias Castle.")
