In the NTSC version when I 'force' (hack) Wander to sleep near a colossus arena this glitch happens!
Haven't tested this in other versions yet.

So, I have to move Wander a great distance away from a colossus arena before I can make him sleep normally. Of course, this is not possible in normal game play, it's just a glitch I found a long time ago.
