"Top of the Mountain" is a cover song by SGP, orginally recorded by Bloodgood.
"Michael Bloodgood was not only an inspiration in faith and music, he was also my pastor for many years and my friend since BLOODGOOD's demo days. Of all the tracks on our up-coming debut, Xianaria, "Top of the Mountain" is one of the more personal: I asked Mike if I could record it years ago, to which he gave his ok. It's always been one of my faves, truly Top 3, along with Crucify/The Messiah.
We kept elements of the original melody, it was important for me to keep the bass line. I'd always wanted to give it a dirty blues feel, so we took it to the Crossroads & brought back something raw.
