Level 8 starts by introducing you to the best NPC in the game, a badass granny prepared to go down fighting for her home. She helps you fend off a horde of Kleers before giving you her minigun.
Minigun works a bit differently than in Serious Sam 3, shooting twice as fast while doing half the damage per shot. You do get twice the ammo than before so it all balances out. You don't get to use it much before you have to pilot the Popemobile (or Papamobile). I gotta be honest, I'm not a fan of it. It's too slow and clunky while also having a huge hitbox. This is a problem during the boss fight, where you need to shoot down debris that gets thrown at you pretty much constantly. You have a dash, but its cooldown is far too long to rely on to dodge the depris. This is easily the most frustrating time I've had with the game so far. I even ran into a glitch that reloads a checkpoint with me outside the mech.
