Serious Sam 4 just came out and it's time for a playthrough. I'll try not to run around as much this time around.
Game start off with a bang showcasing the legion system with literally thousands of enemies and allies on the field at once. After that it's to a fairly tame start with a gradual build up. I played the first two levels in this video, because they were pretty short (compared to level 3 at least). Beheaded Firecrackers and Bombers are back and behave like in Serious Sam 1. Gnaar Females melee damage has been greatly buffed making them dangerous now (males are still pathetic though). Scrapjacks have the health value of their Serious Sam fusion counterpart (460). Cloned Soldiers have been replaced with Octanian Soldiers, that are not hitscan (thank god). New enemies include Processed Anthropolyps that are fast, agressive and numerous, and they can easily overwhelm you. Emetic Anthropolyps are slow moving acid spewing uglies, that also explode upon death (You can use this property of theirs to your advantage more often than not). Aurigan Haemovores act differently from most enemies, prefering to teleport around to disorient you.
Weapons are more satisfying to shoot than ever, especially the Coachgun. Regular shotgun doesn't have to be reloaded this time around, which was a welcome change. You still have to reload the pistol and assault rifle, which is fair enough for balance reasons.
