I recorded this video years ago at the beach, and at the time, I discarded it because I wanted it to feature only and exclusively the sounds of the waves. However, that wasn't possible due to the 'attraction effect' cameras seem to have on people. It has happened and still happens to me (although now not as much since it's more common to see people recording themselves or others) that when I am filming something somewhere and people see a camera, they immediately approach. Even if I'm recording nature, in complete silence, and even monitoring the audio with headphones on... they still come over and talk, ask questions, interrupt, and many times make a totally voluntary and active effort to appear in front of the camera, not just for a moment but to stay there for a while. I'm not sure if it's to be part of the recording, because they find it amusing, they think they'll become famous, or just to bother.
For my part, I understand that being in a public space like a beach or a natural park, they can do whatever they want. So, I prefer to answer their questions, chat if they wish, and generally, I don't usually stop recording when they stand in front of the camera. If they're placing themselves there, they have every right to do so, but I also have the right to continue recording if I've been there much longer than these people, and also having looked for places where I wouldn't bother anyone and 'hide'.
For instance, in this case, I went to the farthest part of the beach, to a corner where there were rocks, and all the people were quite far away. I saw a couple of ladies from the area where everyone was, talking and moving sideways in the water with the waves, gradually getting closer to where I was recording. They kept talking, looking at the camera and where it was pointing, glancing at me discreetly, and continued to approach, until finally standing right in front of the frame I was recording.
I don't know if they were expecting that this would annoy me and I would stop recording, or if they wanted to be in it, but they did it very explicitly and voluntarily. Therefore, if they were so interested in appearing in a video or making themselves known, that's fine by me.
So, here you have today the relaxing sounds of the sea with two ladies as guest stars.
