Exploring the Therapeutic Use of Psychedelics for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
Following the release of Michael Pollan's book (2018) and documentary (2022) on how psychedelics can "change your mind," it is important that the community is aware of the existing research and current available treatments involving psychedelics. Many people are not aware that UW-Madison hosts a number of clinical psychedelic trials and has been doing so for the last 10 years. Dr. CHANTELLE THOMAS and Dr. TODD KAMMERZELT will provide a general overview of the different psychedelic compounds that have been researched for various treatment indications and highlight what forms of treatment are currently available to the general population.
