Prostheses play an increasingly important role in the rehabilitation of amputee patients. Currently, prosthetic devices have many limitations, due to difficulties in reproducing biological functions. Sensory feedback is a step forward in improving the naturalness of the control of a prosthesis by a patient, and it has been proven that they increase the performances of the users in the execution of simple tasks. In this video, Thomas Wahl explains the main goals of sensory prostheses and gives a simple description of their functioning.

Thomas is a student in the Cell Physics Master at the University of Strasbourg, France. cellphysics-master.com
