Senposai is a fantastic leafy green developed in Japan. They crossed Komatsuna (Brassica rapa) with European Cabbage (Brassica oleracea) to create a new type of Brassica napus (same species as Rutabagas, Siberian/Russian Kale, and Canola). Senposai is tender, delicious, extremely fast growing, and gets very large very quickly when grown under good conditions. The leaves can grow huge and are flat enough to make excellent fresh green wraps if allowed to wilt until flexible, sort of a fresh vegetable nori or tortilla!

As an added bonus, it is highly resistant to attack by Swede Midge (Contarinia nasturtii) which is a very difficult invasive pest of most brassica crops here for the past several years.
