This story starts at a very early 1536. I think this is the earliest point we ever start at in an SW game. I point this out now because we've got Yukimura with us at day 1, looking his best at the prime age of -31.

Nobutora Takeda, the current leader of the Takeda and Shingen's father, is who we see kicking Shingen into the floor. He calls him weak for being too soft-hearted and isn't afraid to say the same about everyone else. Yukimura shows up requesting the Takeda for aid as the Murakami are trying to take over their land of Shinano. Nobutora says it's the way of the weak to fall to the strong, but Shingen speaks up saying helping them would lead to them owning Shinano, so he allows it.

The battle goes well when Shingen's fighting, but Nobutora leads them to take several loses. He pulls back the main Takeda force, just leaving Shingen and the Sanada, but they manage to get one of Murakami's officers who's related to Yukimura (his great-uncle) to defect and storm the castle they holed up in all on their own.

After they succeed, the other Takeda retainers suggest that Shingen assume control of the clan, as they've all been growing dissatisfied with Nobutora's leadership. He does so, exiling him while he was away on a visit to the Imagawa. He's not pleased, but can't really do anything because Shingen blocked off Kai's borders to him.

Then, Murakami heads off to the Uesugi and gets them to attack, bringing about a battle at Kawanakajima. Shingen remarks that Yukimura fights in a way that looks like he doesn't have much value on his life and says he should value it more since he needs people like him alive to achieve his goals. Kunoichi agrees, but Shingen says the same about her. She says that she's just an expendable ninja, but Shingen says he views her like a daughter and should treat her life as such. He says it with a really bad pun, though.

After Kawanakajima, Shingen catches wind that Nobutora is making a plan for the Imagawa to attack Kai so he can take back the Takeda. Shingen then calls off the alliance with the Imagawa and prepares to invade. This creates tension between him and his own son, Yoshinobu Takeda, who doesn't agree with turning against his grandfather and has a wife with the Imagawa in Suruga. He calls Shingen a devil and says that even if they unify the land, their honor would be tainted because of their methods.

Kunoichi overhears him saying all that and goes to Yukimura, saying that she feels bad seeing Shingen's family be like this. She tries to smile through everything and not actually feel any emotion, but she can't help but care at what their family is going through. She feels like Shingen is acting how she tries to, by not showing any emotion and laughing everything off. Yukimura consoles her by saying nothing and giving her head pats.

Yoshinobu's wife was forced to leave the Takeda after the battle with the Imagawa, but since they were wiped out, she had nowhere to go and simply disappeared. Yoshinobu says Shingen does not treat him or his grandfather like family, so he no longer acknowledges Shingen as family and instigates a rebellion. For this, he's exiled out of Kai and dies two years after. They don't specify how, but Shingen says that Yoshinobu must have truly hated him.

Around this time is when Shingen begins his march on the capital.

Following that, Nobutora goes to the Oda next and incites them to confront the Takeda. However, Shingen fights them off. Nobutora complains, saying he has a plan to help the Oda win next time, but Nobunaga calls him worthless and sends him away. The next time we see him, he shows up as reinforcements to help us defeat the Oda in their next battle. He says he's seen the error of his ways and that he'll only show up in battle to help when needed, that his return to the clan would just cause confusion.

We have one final battle against the Oda, where Nobutora shows up again. After winning the battle, Shingen reminisces on his son, knowing that he can't be forgiven by him, but says that he's at least managed to bring an end to the chaos.

1:28:00 - Then the final cutscene plays, where Nobutora goes in for a hug with his son...and then stabs him in the gut, calling him weak. Pretty heartfelt scene that's fully translated in the video below.

But then as soon as it ends, we have one final scene where Shingen's just like "But I got better." Kunoichi asks if he's really alright, but he explains he had riceballs tucked away in his armor for just such an occasion. He suspected his father would turn on him like this. Guess that explains why there was no blood on the blade lol... We end the story by him saying that he's going to a hotspring to rest his wound, along with his father, finally able to get along.

Remember, if you have trouble getting along with your dad, attempted murder is the solution!

Yeah, this was an interesting take on Shingen's story, very personal. I'm out of space for
