On August 4, 2026, LAFD responded after a car carrier crashed into a two-story apartment building at 8935 Van Nuys Boulevard in Panorama City.

Firefighters secured the scene as Urban Search and Rescue and Heavy Rescue crews removed the vehicle transporter from the building.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety evaluated the structure for stability.

Two patients were transported to a local hospital, and the American Red Cross assisted 13 displaced occupants. LAPD is handling the investigation.
