Built on top of a double layer hollow icosahedron core, the silver complete sphere shape here is a rhombicosidodecahedron in compact form. The magnetic balls are as tightly packed together as possible for 5 layers solid on the outside but it has a hollow centre cavity, and uses a total of about 1850 magnets.
The video also shows the rigid yet hollow icosahedron core, and another one with three layers built partially on top of it so you can see the structure.
Thanks to Zen Magnets expert Magnenaut for the rigid icosahedron tutorial video whose technique allowed me to complete this shape I had been wanting to finish for months.
