Can one actually "be honest" with oneself in a wholly and completely deterministic universe? Said otherwise, within an absolutely deterministic universe, how and why could or would self-deception occur? Also, in self-deception, just who exactly deceives whom, and, also, what do time and language have to do with all of the above?
Of all the kinds of errors worthy of considering, self-deception ranks perhaps highest?
