This build utilizes added lightning damage linked to flameblast to shock and ignite groups of mobs at the same time. Because Vaal Pact is taken, more stacks of flameblast add more survivability as the entire ES pool can be instantly restored on detonation.
I guess the build has 2 straight damage nodes. 2 have int which is ES and mana, and 1 has area, which is area. One cool use of smoke mine is to lightning warp to the ranged mobs in the area and detonate it on them to blind not only the melee, but also ranged attackers.

End Build. Just adds the rest of the DoT, buff/aura effect, and ES nodes. With the DoT nodes the searing touch can be dropped in favor of a spell grip and shield for a considerable boost to survivability.
