In this video we dive into the unknown with my 1979 XL185s that I picked up a while ago. With such low miles and only a few parts missing I figured this could be an easy transformation into a beat around bike for years to come.
Unfortunately, this motor is LOCKED up tight. Before I pull the motor out to start a fresh rebuild for this bike, Unlocking the crank and piston is the first step. This will hopefully make the tear down much easier for us in the future.
Smaller dirt style bikes are becoming more and more popular beause of their ease of use and lightweight feel when out and about. I am a fan as well!
I refuse to let such a quirky bike die forever! Let's bring it back!
