In 1941 my dad was driving for Transamerican Motor Freight out of Columbus, Ohio and my mother was working at the Government Depot (Army, I think) in Harrisburg, PA. In July he drove his Packard over on the brand new Pennsylvania Turnpike (opened in October 1940) to spend some quality time with her. In December he went back to bring her home. On both occasions he had his Kodak 8mm with him and filmed these all too brief scenes on the Turnpike. More scenes from the July trip wil be posted soon.
