D&RGW steam driven narrow gauge pile driver OB, built in 1891, was included in the collection of historic rolling stock purchased by the States of Colorado and New Mexico in 1970 to be preserved as part of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Like much of the collection it sat neglected for many years as the C&TS struggled just to survive. Then in 1999 the Friends of the C&TS took it on as a restoration project, and after nine years of hard work they succeeded in rendering it once again operational. It is, of course, a museum piece, but occasionally it is taken from the display track for demonstration purposes. This video was filmed during one such demonstration on Octgober 4, 2015.
