A new event at the Colorado Railroad Museum is called Steampunk at the Station. May 06, 2017 was the second year for it, and it attracted quite a crowd of steampunk enthusiasts as well as "normal" people. Both of the museum's operable steam engines were fired up and operated occasional doubleheaders.
An additional attraction was the Salida Circus which entertained the crowds with a variety of aerial acts and magic shows. Several costume vendors were set up for the benefit of those of us who felt the need to start or expand our steampunk outfits (I bought a derby hat and a cravat to go with my coveralls). And of course there was food and drink. And to round it off, the weather was beautiful. A good day.
