Some wildlife encounters are exciting, but others feel deeply special.

We were incredibly fortunate to spot an aardvark (Orycteropus afer) walking through the Namibian bush in broad daylight. These shy, mostly nocturnal animals are rarely seen, making this a truly unforgettable encounter.

In my culture, seeing an aardvark is believed to be a sign that you have been blessed. Whether you share that belief or simply appreciate the wonder of nature, we certainly felt very blessed to witness this beautiful moment.
