So I participated in a live editing contest for the first time this year! I flew to Sakura Con and went up against one other editor, @espressoyourself and we had 2 hours to create a video adhering to the theme "Seeing Red."
We were given footage for five sources in advance to plan our videos ahead of time, which included:
Inuyasha the Movie: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass
Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time
One Piece Film RED
Hazbin Hotel
DanDaDan
As well as the secret source which was announced the night of the event: Clifford's Really Big Movie. I was hoping for either Turning Red or Knuckles since those are sources I know really well and love. I also love Clifford and used to watch the series once upon a time, but completely forgot a movie existed. So even though I love Clifford, I still had to scan through the movie and find clips that somewhat fit into this video xD
Otherwise I was not familiar with any of the other sources so creating this video was tough even with the amount of time we had beforehand!
Once again I think I was too literal and thought Firework would make sense, since fireworks can be red and burst into colors! I knew I was in trouble as soon as the theme was announced anyway because I do NOT edit to angry metal songs!' xDD
I also think I added too many clips that had a blue color theme instead of red...
It was still fun trying something way out of my comfort zone! I'm not sure I would do it again lol
